My name is Melissa Jackson Johnson. My business nickname is Mia. I am in love with food, both savory and sweet. Back in 2007, my love for sweets led me to search for great tasting desserts. I noticed that a lot of cakes looked beautiful but lacked in flavor and moisture (I know people don’t like that word, but it fits).

I am a home baker that rents Kitchen Space from a fantastic business, Flavors, located in
Hyattsville, MD. I refer to my bakery as a facility that makes all types of desserts (cake jars,
cakes, cheesecakes, cobblers, cookies, etc.) that taste amazing and are reasonably priced. The
cake designs are basic (no fondant or anything elaborate) and once you taste it, you will be
stuck on that burst of flavor.

I love watching first-time customer’s faces as they open a sample cup and say, “wow, it smells so good” and then when they taste it, their expression tells it all; They are in LOVE. It gives me such pleasure to make people smile.

I remember at one event last year at a festival in Silver Spring, one of my first-time customers
loved the lemon crunch cake jar so much she ate the entire jar while standing there talking to
me. She truly could not get enough. It was such an awesome experience!!!!
